Abbotsford Turf Pros installs artificial turf and synthetic grass across Abbotsford, BC and the Fraser Valley. We build no-mow lawns, backyard putting greens, pet turf and play areas on a properly drained base, so your fake grass stays green, flat and mud-free every day of the year.
Real-looking artificial grass, built for our climate
Keeping a natural lawn alive in the Fraser Valley is a constant fight. Long wet winters turn the yard to mud, summer dry spells brown it off, and shade from all those cedars and firs means moss takes over where grass should be. Artificial turf skips all of that. A good synthetic lawn stays a clean, even green through the rain, the heat and the frost, with no watering, no mowing and no fertilizing.
We're not the cheapest option, and we're fine with that. The difference between a fake grass lawn that looks great in five years and one that goes lumpy and holds water in one is almost always the base underneath. We strip the old sod, build and compact a graded aggregate base, lay a weed barrier, then install premium UV-stable turf with hidden seams and properly secured edges. Done that way, synthetic grass behaves itself for a long time.
What we install
Most of our work is residential artificial turf lawns, front and back. But synthetic grass works almost anywhere. We build custom backyard putting greens with a true roll, mud-free pet turf and dog runs that rinse clean, cushioned playground turf for play areas, and turf over hard surfaces like rooftops, patios and balconies. We also handle commercial artificial turf for strata, offices and rentals, and we fix or replace failing turf that someone else got wrong.
Why homeowners switch to synthetic grass
The obvious reason is time. No more weekends lost to mowing, edging, watering and reseeding. But there's more to it. Fake grass means no more mud tracked into the house, no more dead patches where the dog runs the same line, no more brown lawn during a summer watering ban, and a yard that looks just as good in January as it does in July. For shady, mossy or sloped yards where real grass simply won't grow, synthetic turf is often the only thing that gives you a usable green space at all.
Maintenance drops to almost nothing. A quick rinse now and then, the odd brush to keep the blades standing, and clearing leaves in the fall. That and a free quote from a local crew that actually finishes the base is all it takes to be done with lawn care for good. Call us at 604-337-2955 or request a quote and we'll come measure your yard.

FAQ
Common questions about artificial turf
Everything Fraser Valley homeowners ask us before they switch to artificial grass.
How much does artificial turf cost in Abbotsford?
Every yard is different, so we don't post a flat price. The cost of artificial grass depends on your square footage, the base prep needed, drainage, and the turf you pick. We come out, measure, and give you a clear written quote at no charge. Call us and we'll book it.
How long does artificial grass last?
A quality synthetic lawn that's installed properly lasts a long time and holds up to Fraser Valley rain, sun and frost. The base prep matters more than anything — a turf that's laid on a poorly compacted base fails early no matter how good the grass is. That's where we focus.
Is artificial turf good for dogs?
Yes. Pet-grade fake grass is one of the most popular installs we do. We use turf with a permeable backing and add the right infill so urine drains straight through and rinses clean. No mud, no dead patches, no digging.
Does artificial grass get hot in the summer?
Synthetic turf can warm up in direct afternoon sun, like any surface does. For yards that bake all day we can spec a cooler turf and the right infill to keep temperatures comfortable. In Abbotsford's climate it's rarely an issue.
Will fake grass drain in our rainy Fraser Valley weather?
It has to, and that's the whole game out here. We build a proper compacted aggregate base with the right slope and use turf with a fully permeable backing. Water drains through faster than natural soil, so you won't get the puddles and mud you'd get with real grass.
Can you install artificial turf over concrete or a patio?
Yes. We lay synthetic grass over concrete, decks, patios, rooftops and balconies using a shock pad and the right adhesive so it stays flat and drains. It's a great way to soften a hard surface without ripping it out.
How long does a turf installation take?
Most residential yards are done in a few days, depending on size and how much base prep and removal is involved. We'll give you a realistic timeline with your quote so you know what to expect.
Do you remove the old lawn first?
Yes. A proper install starts by stripping the existing sod or old surface, then building and compacting a fresh base. Skipping that step is why a lot of cheap turf jobs go lumpy and hold water. We don't cut that corner.
